The Worst EPL Dives in History

If you are an avid English Premier League (EPL) watcher, even if you’re an occasional watcher, you will know that it is known for its theatrical dives.

It looks like it is here to stay, even with VAR many players are still getting away with it!

Although it is annoying when a player does it against your team and wins penalties out of it, it is still very entertaining to watch, so we have put together a list of the worst dives in EPL history…

Fernando Torres

During a match against Manchester United, Torres and a Man U player were both going after the ball, neither of them got there in time, so Torres decided to act like the tackle was a foul instead.

The ex Chelsea player has always been known for his magnificent dives, and this is one of our favourites.

Daniel James

While playing for Man United against Wolves, Dan James was booked for diving, shocker! This is not something we often see, but the referee definitely made the right call here.

Mohammed Salah

Known as a legendary dive, Salah wasn't too sure if the ball would quite make it to the goal during a game against Manchester City, so he decided to quite literally take a leap of faith and go for a foul instead.

(I apologise for the video, it's the only one I could find)

Ashley Young

Ashley Young is known to be one of the worst divers, and this time round it was against his new club Aston Villa while playing for Manchester City.

Young took a tumble after a slight touch to the football boot, he put on a great performance.

Granit Xhaka

During a game against Crystal Palace, Xhaka hit the deck after lightly running into another player's arm.

Harry Kane

Despite being one of the best players in the league, Harry Kane still feels the need to dive. During the current season, whilst playing against Everton, Kane saw his chance for a free penalty, while being slightly squashed between the keeper and defender.

Kane went onto score that goal, making the final score 2-0

Wilfried Zaha

This one was caught by a fan, while playing against Manchester City, it seemed that Zaha dived after being lightly touched. It is quite hard to tell, but it doesn’t look like he was touched at all, yet he flew onto the ground… I’ll let you guys decide.

Luis Suarez

I am sure you were waiting for this one, a list of the worst divers wouldn't be complete without Luis Suarez.

So, I have decided to include more than one of his dives, see below for Suarez’s most iconic dives.
