The Jacksonville Jaguars have broken the second longest losing streak in the NFL, getting their first win in 20 games after a last second thriller over the Miami Dolphins in London.
The Jacksonville Jaguars took on the Miami Dolphin in London as part of the NFL's international series of games.
Both teams took a road trip and played away at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. Although you could argue that the Jag's had the home game advantage as this game was the eighth time that the Jaguars have played in London, the most times out of any other NFL team.
On top of the Jaguars being the most internationally featured team, they also broke their longest losing streak. Starting back in the 2020 season, the Jaguars had posted a loss for 20 consecutive games.
That streak was broke when the Jaguars defeated the Dolphins with a last-second field goal. What is even worse for the Dolphins is that up until that point the Jaguars had not made a field goal all season.

The London Game
The Jaguars pulled off a win for the first time this season, and ended their twenty-game losing streak while in London against the Dolphins. It was a nail-biter as Jaguars kicker Matthew Wright tied the game in the fourth quarter, and then won the game 23-20, with a 53-yard field goal as time expired.
Jaguars Quarterback Trevor Lawrence went 25 of 41 for 319 yards and a touchdown; and running back James Robinson had 17 carries for 73 yards and a touchdown. Both players made some key plays down the stretch to seal the game. These two playmakers have had their highlights throughout the season but it never seemed to be at the same time. Today, they both contributed to the win.
Early on into the game, the Jaguars offense seemed to struggle getting the ball moving because of some key drops and false-start penalties. But as the half was coming to a close Lawrence throws up a ball to wide receiver Marvin Jones, who is able to come down with it as he is one-on-one against cornerback Noah Igbinoghene.
Was Jaguars' losing streak the longest in NFL history?
Although the Jaguars broke their 20 loss streak, that is still not the longest streak in NFL history (in the Superbowl era). Twenty losses in a row have the Jaguars pegged in 2nd place all-time.
Their 20 losses started in the 2020 season, where they went 1-15. Those 15 straight losses combined with this season's first five games meant they were well on the way to breaking the long held record, but thankfully for the Jaguars, they have now snapped their streak.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers hold the undesirable record for most consecutive losses when they consecutively lost 26 games between the 1976 and 1977 seasons. The Bucs would go 0-14 in 1976 and couple that with an additional 12 losses in the 1977 season before finally defeating the New Orleans Saints on December 11, 1977. The Jags look to build on their first victory of the season
With the 1-5 Jaguars finally notching their much-needed first win, they are now officially no longer drawn with the Detroit Lions who are still sitting on an uncomfortable 0-6 record for the season.
Head coach Urban Meyer can now breathe a bit easier and may not see his job disappear as quickly as was once thought. London games are always a toss-up, but the Jags found their way into outlasting the Dolphins to snap their losing streak.
The hope would now be for the Jaguars to consolidate on this win and move forward with confidence, as they move into bye week before taking on the Seattle Seahawks in Week 8.
