2023 FIFA Women's World Cup Group Stages Results

The group stages of the FIFA Women's World Cup are over. There have been some incredible underdog stories, or surprise upsets, depending on which side you are on. We've got every result of every Group Stage fixture as well as the final standings of each team within their group.

Group A


  • 20th July: New Zealand 1-0 Norway (Hannah Wilkinson 48')
  • 21st July: Philippines 0-2 Switzerland (Ramona Bachmann 45' pen, Seraina Piubel 64')
  • 25th July: New Zealand 0-1 Philippines (Sarina Bolden 24')

The New Zealand team kicked off their campaign with a slender 1-0 victory against Norway. The Philippines faced Switzerland in an intriguing matchup, with Switzerland emerging victorious with a 2-0 scoreline. The Philippines, however, bounced back with a 1-0 win against New Zealand. Switzerland and Norway locked horns in a hard-fought contest that ended in a goalless draw. The Group A drama continued when Norway delivered an impressive 6-0 thrashing of the Philippines, and once again, Switzerland settled for a goalless draw against New Zealand.

Australia started on a positive note by securing a narrow 1-0 win against Republic of Ireland. Nigeria and Canada displayed a fiercely competitive encounter that ultimately ended in a goalless draw. Canada then turned the tide in their favor by clinching a 2-1 win over Republic of Ireland. However, the standout match in this group was between Australia and Nigeria, with Nigeria prevailing 3-2 in a thrilling contest. Canada, on the other hand, suffered a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Australia. Republic of Ireland held Nigeria to a 0-0 draw.

Group C witnessed Spain's supremacy, as they dominated their opening match with a convincing 3-0 win against Costa Rica. Meanwhile, Japan showcased their attacking prowess with a comprehensive 5-0 victory over Zambia. Japan continued their winning streak with a 2-0 triumph against Costa Rica. Spain kept their momentum going by demolishing Zambia 5-0. The group's highlight was the intense encounter between Japan and Spain, with Japan winning a decisive 4-0 victory. Costa Rica fought valiantly but ultimately succumbed to a 3-1 defeat against Zambia.

Group D provided some nail-biting matches. England got off to a winning start by securing a narrow 1-0 victory against Haiti. Denmark, too, displayed their strength with a 1-0 win over China PR. Haiti struggled to contain China PR's attack and lost 1-0. England continued their dominance with another narrow 1-0 victory, this time against Denmark. However, the standout performance came from England's third match against China PR where England triumphed 6-1 against England in a surprising upset. The final match between Haiti and Denmark ended with a 2-0 victory to Denmark.

Group E saw the USA establish their supremacy right from the start, as they secured a convincing 3-0 win over Vietnam. Netherlands also showed their prowess, narrowly defeating Portugal 1-0. The encounter between USA and Netherlands resulted in a thrilling 1-1 draw. Portugal managed a 2-0 win over Vietnam. Netherland's dominance continued with an emphatic 7-0 victory against Vietnam. The final match between Portugal and USA ended in a goalless draw.

Group H saw Germany's sheer dominance as they crushed Morocco with a stunning 6-0 victory. Colombia also displayed their strength, securing a 2-0 win over the Republic of Korea. Morocco put in a good performance with an early goal against Korea with the game ending in a 1:0 victory. Colombia delivered a standout performance, edging out Germany with a narrow 2-1 victory. Germany and Korea fought hard throughout and finished with a respectable 1-1 draw. Morocco secured their place in the next group with a 1-0 victory over Colombia.

What's Next?
